Wyndholme Village
On the Road to Getting Final Financing!
Baltimore, MD - Leeds Federal accepted a payment for
Wyndholme Village that will effectively give the community an
additional two weeks to complete financing efforts. Wyndholme
should be able to start construction soon thanks to the support and
financial acumen provided by Jim Macfadden and John Veach of Macfadden
& Associates located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Jim Macfadden who is now a partner in Wyndholme Village, LLC
personally put up the required funds to secure the extension. We
are very pleased and proud to be associated with Jim. He owns
and operates a highly successful organization in the computer
industry. With over 100 employees, Macfadden and Associate’s
key customers are the Agency for International Development, the State
Department, the Federal Aviation Administration, Pension Benefit
Guaranty Corporation, Peace Corps, and the Food and Drug
Administration.
Support for Wyndholme Village has come from many quarters
and this effort is just another example of the continuing interest by deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in making Wyndholme a place
that deaf people can call their own.
“With government support for deaf facilities waning, there
is obviously no alternative other than private initiatives like
ours to do the job,” said Jim Lancelotta when he heard of Leeds
Federal’s positive decision granting an extension. “The
recent failure of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
to support the construction of a deaf facility in Fremont, California
is a prime example.”
“Wyndholme Village is a concept that is destined to
happen, and with the continuing support of deaf and hard-of-hearing
people everywhere it will soon become a reality! I would
especially like to acknowledge the constant and continuing support,
both spiritually and financially, of Harry Tremaine. He and all
of our amazing depositors have been wonderful and we really appreciate
their great ideas, financial backing and support over the years."
Happy New Year to everyone from the staff at
