When you move to Wyndholme...and as shown by the current
interest in the investment opportunity that is available,* it will be sooner rather
than later!
You can be assured at Wyndholme, there will be challenges
and experiences that should definitely keep you feeling young at heart.
Allow me to share one that occurred just last week. Barbara
Willigan, Jim Casterline and myself met with Rosalyn and Jack Gannon last Thursday to give
them an update on the current status of Wyndholme Village. We also planned to share
ideas on ways we might improve on our approach to succeed. I must say it's truly a
pleasure to witness and be a part of the excitement this group expresses. That Wyndholme
Village succeeds, means so much to them and many of their friends. Believe me, it's
meetings like this and the commitment they have, that lifts my spirit and gives me the
strength and courage to face the daily adversity currently surrounding Wyndholme Village.
Back to my story. When Jack retired (that’s what he calls
it) he and Rosalyn fulfilled a life long dream and purchased a farm. Growing up at
Wyndholme, I learned how to operate tractors and various types of heavy equipment so on
numerous occasions I volunteered my service to assist Jack at his farm. When we finished
our meeting I told Jack about the caterpillar powered front-end loader we purchased to
maintain the grounds, remove snow, and perform many construction related activities. I
could see the excitement in his eyes, so I had to ask," Jack, if you want to try it
out---give me 10 minutes to get it warmed up." It took a little convincing to get
Jack behind the controls, but with Rosalyn's encouragement he climbed aboard. Within 15
minutes Jack was moving earth, and quite well, I must say.
In a recent conversation I was asked to describe my goal in
developing Wyndholme Village. I wrote, "Wyndholme Village is, in effect,
providing the infrastructure for a community that seniors will be proud to call their
home, instead of an environment they had to be placed in as a last resort."
I’m cautiously optimistic a source to provide the balance
of the $5,000,000 needed to begin construction will be located in the near future. I have
created an Executive Summary which is readily available and would appreciate any
assistance I receive in accomplishing this goal.
Numerous responses have been received regarding the question I
posed last week regarding the need for a community similar to Wyndholme Village
approximately 90 miles north of Chicago on Lake Michigan. I welcome your comments. Next
Monday I will update you on our progress here and summarize our financing prospects. Your
input along with your support is gratefully appreciated. Please fax your comments and/or
ideas directly to me at 410-644-5165.
Thank You,
