Jim Lancelotta,
managing partner of Wyndholme Village, LLC, is proud to announce that
William (Bill) Braughton has been appointed president of JLANCE
Construction Company, Inc. As president, Bill will lead and manage
the construction process required to develop Wyndholme Village.
Mr. Lancelotta stated, “Years of experience
have proven to me, that to develop a community of this magnitude
requires the direction and leadership of a very special team of
individuals. There are three major areas that must have strong
leadership. They are construction, marketing and sales. The
individuals in charge must thoroughly understand and believe in the
purpose and benefits the community will provide to its residents when
completed. In addition they must possess the knowledge and skills,
to handle the challenges that are bound to occur in these critical
areas.”
During my initial meeting with Bill, we walked
about the site and I explained the background and history of events that
had occurred along with the challenges that lie ahead. I sensed
Bill was truly interested and excited about the opportunity available to
take charge of the construction process in the development of Wyndholme
Village. Once Bill described his outstanding background and his
goals, I knew without a doubt he was an individual that would be a
tremendous asset to the Wyndholme management team. He was more
than qualified to take charge of the construction process.
His background includes serving as senior vice-president of
construction for a developer of large-scale retirement communities both
locally and nationally, over the past eight years. Additionally,
as senior project manager for a national construction company, Bill had
complete profit/loss responsibility from the pre-construction stage to
the turning over of the finished product on several major projects in
the Baltimore and Washington region. Two of these noteworthy
accomplishments are Market Square at 7th &
9th Streets on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. and The Gallery
at Harborplace located in the heart of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
Having Bill as a member of the Wyndholme Village
team is truly a blessing. Since Bill has arrived, a steady stream
of highly respected subcontractors have requested the opportunity to
provide bids on the various components required to construct Phase I of
Wyndholme Village. Their interest is directly attributable to their
previous experience with Bill when he was responsible for selecting
subcontractors to perform services that had a dollar value in excess of
$500 million over the past eight years.
With actual construction slated to begin in
late summer, value engineering the Wyndholme construction documents has been
Bill’s top priority. His extensive expertise has already
resulted in implementing changes that will enhance the overall quality
of the building and provide significant improvements, as well as cost
savings. This is vitally important since construction costs have
been subject to substantial increases in this booming economy.
Without a doubt the prices at Wyndholme Village
will have to be adjusted in the very near future. The GOOD NEWS -
those who have already signed a contract have obtained a better value
